meet Rachel

Hello I’m Rachel, wife, mom, and photographer. I specialize in newborn and child photography, but I also venture into working with families at all stages, couples saying “I do”, and many other areas of capturing memories.

When my clients post reviews or send me feedback after a session, they often mention how the “mother in me” came out during our time together. I take great pride in being a mother; in fact, it is all I ever knew I wanted to be.

I spent much of my early career in the business world, as an HR Manager, always wanting to do something else with my career. After losing our first son at 22 weeks pregnant, I was devastated, and most days unable to leave the couch. I took some time off from work, and during my grieving process, found a local photography class. That class was the beginning of a life-altering journey for me. My son’s life had meaning, and he helped me see that I had an undiscovered talent for capturing the most precious moments of your youngest family members.

I now have two children, Avery (4) and Olivia (2), and a third on the way! I spend each day with them, soaking up their little baby moments, and enjoying this awesome journey and new career. I see the world through the eyes of a mother, and I believe that gives my work a little something special.

I have been extensively trained to safely work with the youngest of babies, and pride myself in continuing my education in, not only the art of photography, but specifically the art of working with infants. While my job is definitely fun, I also take my responsibility to your family very seriously. I will treat your children and your memories, like my own.
I hope you will take a look around and reach out to me to learn more. I look forward to working with your family in whatever milestone you are celebrating next.

three fun facts about me

01.

I am a pageant queen

I competed in the Miss America Organization for 7 years, so I know exactly what it is like to be on the other side of the camera

02.

I want a big family

I am working on baby #3 right now, but am definitely not shutting the door on more kiddos in the Mummert house

03.

I have a degree in Psychology

Originally, I wanted to be a counselor, but I have never used that degree one day in my actual career

I started my photography business in 2014, working from a home studio for the first few years. I recently ventured into opening a commercial studio in Hanover, and could not be happier with the support I have received in taking this major step in my career. Having the studio has given me the opportunity to expand my skills, my space, and my availability.
Located at 300 Frederick Street in Hanover, PA, my studio offers a comfortable and spacious environment for my clients. From the coffee bar in the waiting area, to the extensive props and accessories, I have designed this space to cater to all ages of clients and guests.
While I specialize in newborn and child photography, I know that with those sweet little newborns come rambunctious siblings, tired parents, and sometimes an anxious grandparent or two. I want everyone to feel comfortable and at home, so kick off your shoes and relax!
Having a work space outside of my home, has allowed me to expand my accessories and prop selection as well. I am constantly adding new accessories for your babies and toddlers, and you are always welcome to pick through my collection while visiting.
